Cows in Town

One day Ofelia and I (Weylin) walked into the center of town to meet Katherine for lunch. On our way back we witnessed a surreal scene. As we crossed the abandoned railroad tracks, I glanced down the track and saw a small herd of cows making their way toward us, unassisted by a shepherd or similar farmer-like figure. As we watched, the cows crossed through traffic seemingly without a care, and made their way into the park for some easy grazing. What made the scene even more bizarre was that we seemed to be the only ones taking notice. Luquenos take for granted many things that we find extraordinary. (And I’m sure the opposite would also be true.)
